■ 연구소개
생체 장기 중에서 유일하게 두 개체 즉 태아와 모체가 상호작용 할 수 있는 태반에서 모체와 태아의 면역 반응에 대해 연구해 왔다. 아직 원인을 잘 모르는 만성 태반 염증 (villitis of unknown etiology) 에서 모체 림프구가 태아의 대식세포가 상호 작용하며 모체와 태아 전신적인 염증 반응을 보임을 규명하여 allograft rejection/GVHD 와 유사한 면역기전에 의해 이 질환이 발생함을 밝혀냈다. 한편 태반혈관과 제대혈관에서 태반을 구성하는 세포들의 모세포인 fibrocyte의 존재를 증명하였다. 최근 알려진 몇 가지 면역 관련 물질의 임신과 출산에서의 역할에 대한 연구를 해 오고 있다. 이러한 연구결과들은 조산 또는 태내성장지연 등의 임신관련 질병의 기전을 이해하는데 근거를 제공하였다. 또한 심장 및 기타 장기 발생에도 관심이 있어 심장 발생 이상을 보이는 유전적 변이 동물 모델을 이용한 연구에 참여한 바 있다. ■ 연구분야 키워드 placenta, inflammation, pregnancy, fetus, development, heart ■ 학력 및 경력 1991 의학학사, 서울대학교 의과대학 1997 의학박사(병리학), 서울대학교대학원 1997 ~ 2000 네덜란드 University of Amsterdam 박사후 연구원 2001 ~ 2007 울산대학교 의과대학 병리학교실 전임강사, 조교수 2007 ~ 2010 미국 Wayne State University, School of Medicine 부교수 2010 ~ 현재 성균관대학교 의과대학 병리학교실 교수 ■ 대표 업적 1.
